Classical Dance Form of South India | Bharatnatayam | Kathakali | Mohiniyattam | Kuchipudi

The south part of India is one of the wealthiest areas that have some wonderful places and great culture with it.  So it is very popular in India and around the world. Bharatnatayam Bharatnatayam is one of the classical dances of south India and also an origin of some other famous classical dances. The traditional dancing types are the key element that keeps the Native Indian culture alive. It has its own beauty and grace that are ornamented by the pre-set patterns of dominantly vibrant costumes & make-up. There are mainly 5 dancing types of south India that are globally recommended- Bharatanatyam, Kathakali, Mohiniyattam, Theyyam and Kuchipudi. South Indian dance emotions, colors, creativity in it that motivates the viewer.

Kathakali – The second name is classical dance Kathakali, is one the most popular dance of south India. One of the dominate part of the dance its facial expression and its traditional dance dress and jewellery.


Mohiniyattam - Third is Mohiniyattam, a traditional dancing type that is considered as the most elegant dancing. This dancing type is only conducted by women as a single.

4th is Theyyam, this dancing type is even well known as Kaliyattom. This dancing type is associated with ritualistic individuals dancing of Northern Kerala (India).

 Fifth is Kuchipudi, this dance form is even called as ˜KoochipoodiĆ¢. It is a major south Indian dance style. The actions are quicksilver and sparkling, rounded and fleet-footed. The devotion and dedication of the performers reflects in the moves they perform during the dance. Kuchipudi dance style is performed with heart and soul that can be easily seen on the faces of dancers. Kuchipudi dancing design is conducted with core that can be easily seen on the encounters of performers.
